Fernwood Consulting specializes in the delivery of capital projects and traffic management support for special events. Based in Central Vancouver Island, we’re proud to also support clients and deliver projects across the lower mainland, the gulf islands and wider British Columbia.
Our firm consists of a small team of highly skilled professionals, priding ourselves on client satisfaction, attention to detail and high-quality outcomes. Our scale and diversity in skillset enables us to put our clients first and provide outstanding service and value. Our Partners and Co-Founders:
Jodie Miller, PEng PMP
Jodie is a Professional Engineer and certified Project Management Professional with over 15 years' experience across civil engineering, construction and facilities management. She has a proven track record in the successful delivery of a diverse range of infrastructure projects including highways, bridges and building renovations.
Jodie’s experience covers all phases of project implementation from business case development, feasibility and options analysis through to detailed design, contract documentation and construction supervision.
She co-founded Fernwood Consulting to provide project management solutions and help organizations meet their targets. Jodie’s most passionate about using her technical skills to creative positive outcomes for the community.
Ryan Timms
Ryan has a background in sales and business management with over 15 years’ experience in both the private and public sector.
Previously the Manager of the City of Vancouver’s Film and Special Events department, Ryan’s time working within the sphere of municipal government has given him keen insight on the decision-making process that allows him to understand the barriers to project support and navigate through red tape. Ryan’s most passionate about using his experience to support meaningful events for the public and our built environment.
The Process - How We Work
Listening and Understanding
We’ll arrange an initial consultation to assess the scope of work. To help with this, we’ll discuss a series of questions to better understand the needs of your project.
Proposal
We’ll develop a proposal that outlines the scope of our services, costs and timelines for your review and acceptance. For each project, we’ll provide a Project Intake Form to confirm project objectives and scope.
Toolkit
Depending on the nature of your project, we’ll provide a toolkit to reflect your vision and requirements. We’ll develop project management tools and reporting methods to suit your needs and work with your organization’s existing systems. We can establish, monitor and report on:
Project charter and objectives, budget, scope, schedule, expenditure, change, risks, issues, challenges, opportunities and key performance indicators.
Planning & Delivery
